A few fave things 'round the hizzle

I like stuff. I would have ten houses if I could to house all the stuff I want to buy. I have so many different likes when it comes to home decorating. For the house I live in, I prefer a more "traditional" approach. However, I love bright colored beach houses and rustic lake cabins and log cabins deep in the woods. I could see myself in all of them...:)

I just thought I would share a FEW things that I really like around my house. It would take lots of pics to show everything I love, so I narrowed it down to a few.

This table is right by the door to my garage so it catches alot of stuff on the way it in. It's kind of a junk table. I still love my leopard buffet lamp..don't care what anyone says!!

My little palm tree. It makes me smile! I wish I had palm trees everywhere! I live them. Seriously, maybe I should move to Hawaii! It sits on a pub table in my living room.

This is over my sectional...

And this chair...it matches my sectional and I <3 it. It is so comfy and I like to spin it around to the windows and read books, look at the ducks in the pond, or just watch random golfers...

This table is in my entry way. I recently bought this charger plate @ Kirkland's and the box said A on it, so I snatched it up. I put it here and then noticed that it has a C on it. So I need to take it back and exchange it. Mom said I shoud just keep it. C is for Christ!

This reed diffuser has an A on it and it's in the kid's bathroom. (I kinda have a slight A obsession...and I like that my first and last name start with an A) I got it at Hobby Lobby.

And this A is over the kiddo's toilet...we are the Anglin Mafia, after all. (or so hubby calls us)

I really love candle holders and candles. But this is my fave candle because I love fleur de lis. It's on my dresser.

And since I know you are tired of looking at my stuff, I am going to wrap this up with my fave place in my house. The bathtub because it's where I like to be with a good book, really hot water and lots of bubbles! I really love the rock in the bathroom. It's really relaxing.

That's all for now, folks!

Playin Ketchup

Haven't blogged in days! It's because my life isn't really that interesting. So, kids are out of school and things have returned to chaotic! It is madness, I tell you! My biggest problem with my kids is not the messes they make, but they seem to be fighting alot lately! It is driving me nutty. The boys seem to hit each other every time I turn around. I know it's normal, but I am trying to teach them to not touch each other or anyone else for that matter....

And, yesterday I go to the school to register a certain little boy for kindergarten (I so cannot believe he is going to go to kindergarten so soon) and the secretary said she neeeded to speak with me about Caden. She handed me an envelope with $40 in it, and said that Caden had brought it from home and was trying to spend it on pencils and erasers. I was furious. I have taught my kiddos to not steal. He doesn't get it though. He is always taking quarters from my purse and drawers. He is now grounded. He can't play outside with his brother and sister today. I know he is a little "different" because of his Asperger's syndrome, but I hate to place labels on him. I try to not treat him any differently, but I will tell ya, Asperger's puzzles me! And I know he has a hard time because of it. (Me, too!) How about a picture? Saturday night Caden fell asleep in his toy bucket. He got a blanket and crawled in there and fell sound asleep in it. We got a good laugh out of it! I love him so much!

And, I cannot believe this little guy is about to be a kindergartner!

This picture was taken about a year and a half ago in Greers Ferry. I cannot believe how much he has grown. I cried when I filled out the paperwork because he is my baby. And he needs me!!! I need him! I never thought all my kids would all be in school. It does happen for you mommies that are at home with babies and you think it is an eternity away before they begin school, I promise it comes sooner than you think! Enjoy them being little. I can remember people telling me before you know it, they'll be in school and thinking that was a lifetime away. Here I am, with a 2nd grader, a 1st grader, and a kindergartner. I am a busy mama! I miss them being babies. There was a time when I had a 2 year old, a one year old, and a newborn and I actually miss it.

I looove Spring. Is anyone else ready for the rain to STAY away? It really messed up our Memorial day weekend plans! I love sunshine and green grass and fresh flowers. On Memorial Day we had ribs, hamburgers, fresh fruit, grilled corn on the cob, twice baked potatoes, cole slaw, bacon and tomato salad, baked beans, chicken legs, cucumber salad....we had SOOOO much food. Too much food. It was nice to stay at home though. Sharon (my dad's wife) brought me these flowers from their yard. I love hydrangeas, I think they are so beautiful. So I put them in the dining room.

Today we are going to stay home and do some cleaning and organizing, but tomorrow I think we may go to the zoo or the Rivermarket. Something to get out of the house aside from the park and the trampoline in our backyard! We have a neighborhood pool, but I am really too cheap to pay the country club dues so we dont have a membership. And we live right on the golf course, but live on a street that doesnt require POA dues. (yea for that!) When we drive by the pool, the kids beg me to stop. (Bad mom, huh?) I am trying to come up with summer activities to keep them busy. Otherwise my house will become a disaster.

Anyways, I hope everyone has a great Wednesday!

Today Shake and Bake (AKA Laiken) had a party in her classroom. It was a teacher appreciation lunch thrown by the parents. One mom took up money and bought Laiken's teacher a Cricut paper cutting machine. She had been wanting one, but they cost around $300. It was neat to see the tears in her eyes when she opened it. Laiken's teacher has been teaching a long time and still has that spark and passion that gets lost in lots of older teachers. We had pizza and cake (well, I didn't have pizza and cake, anyways!). Just wanted to share some pics. The quality is not good, and the pics arent very good, but hey. I really appreciate Mrs. Huddleston for being such a great teacher. She handmakes all her kids blankets embroidered with their names on it for Christmas. She buys these kids countless books and teddy bears....amazing lady. Tomorrow we are going to see Earth and head to the park with the whole kindergarten. I am really looking forward to it. Anyhow, on to the pics!

Go Kris Go!

Ummm Go Arkansas!!!!! At&T said they got 38 million times in Arkansas ALONE!!!!!!!!!!! Awesome! I know the south would band together and vote for the good guy. It's cool to see the live watch party on TV from Conway. I wish I could have gone to a watch party, but no babysitter! :( And I texted my thumbs off last night!
Well, it looks like my old/new dream home may be in the reach. The buyers didn't pan out for the house so I am now waiting to hear back from our lender to see if we can buy another house....

I went yesterday with my Dad and I took pictures around the house. I really love it. I love it because it's old and charming, and I love the character. It has just enought space for all of us, plus the upstairs can be made into a fabulous girls room. It has a huge tub up there and a huge bedroom, plus another little room that connects to it that can be used for all their toys.

Today, I let my kids stay home from school. School is out on Friday and my kids are exhausted from ball and last night they didnt fall asleep till close to eleven. I feed them before their games, but after all that playing, they want to eat again when we get home. Tomorrow, I am excited because I get to have lunch in Laiken's classroom and on Friday I am going to the movies and to the park with them. It's also very hard because "R" is in her class and I am praying so hard for her. I'm going to call her R from now on. But I will also enjoy spending time with her. I told her she was pretty last week and she said "No, I'm not." I told her she was, and she said that noone had ever told her she was pretty...it broke my heart and I felt tears welling up in my eyes.

So, I don't talk much about my weight loss journey. But today I ran when I got up for two miles and I feel great so far today. I feel so much better. It's been hard for me to gain weight when I used to spend 4 hours at the gym every day lifting weights with men...and my husband is so dedicated and he eats so good. I am upping my protein like I used to when I was weight lifting and eating my old food....I feel so much better when I eat "clean".

So anyways, here are a few pics of the house...

DWTS, The Bachelorette, and The Hills...

Face it. I am addicted to Reality TV!!!! I am trying to quit. (cough) Maybe not.

So, tonight is one of my fave TV nights right now. I am loving DWTS. I loved Gilles and Cheryl tonight. I still like Melissa, although it was a little off to me tonight. Can't wait to watch tomorrow. How about the Bachelorette? I like Jillian, I think she's totally sweet and cute. The boys were cute for the most part, but my money is on Juan right now (this may change later!) Haven't watched the Hills yet, but it's 11:30 and I am bout to curl up on the couch with my blankie and watch it. I watch all of my reality madness after the kids go to bed. Thank goodness for DVR! I really am not sure how I survived without it! Goodnight to all!

The weekend rap-up

So, how was your weekend? Mine was so busy. On Friday, I had concession stand duty at the ballpark. We were there until close to 12. Saturday, we cleaned out the garage and put the boys bunk beds BACK in their room to have more room. I got the boys this organic bedding at Wal-Mart for $35 and I think it is so cute. You cannot beat $70 bucks for two complete bed sets, and they are soft and organic! The design is really cute. I will take pics of the bunk beds later, but I managed to find a pic of it. They love it! It's a nice break from the camo bedding they had.

I also went to Rue 21 and scored two of these. They look really cute with footless tights and my fave Old Navy sandals.

We also went to some friends house on Saturday night and took some crawfish and had a good time hanging out. The kids played and rode their bikes while the adults talked. I love that about warm weather. I love Memorial Day and the 4th of July. I love grilling hamburgers and chowing down on Watermelon! :) Next weekend for Memorial Day, I think we are gonna head up to Greers Ferry to the lake house for some R&R and fun on the lake. We have not been back to the lake since the incident on Ouachita. I think I am ready to go back. We haven't had a chance, really since we have been drowning in rainfall. So, Sunday afternoon Scotty had a ballgame against a girl's team and it was silly. The men beat the women like 40-0. We had pizza for dinner last night! (Not on my food plan. Ha!) I can't seem to wake up today. The sun is shining, but I am so tired. Can't stop yawning. I am debating whether I want to run on the treadmill or go outside and jump on the trampoline with Camden...surely that's excercise, too?

Hope everyone has a Fan-tabulous Monday!

My husband Rocks

Ok, well since today my husband is the BIG 30, I thought I would do a my husband rocks post! I got the idea fromNic. Let me just say my husband is amazing for putting up with me! Putting up with me is a full time job, LOL. And because I don't always put up the laundry, Ha! Anyways, he works very hard for us so that we can have everything we need. He gives me and the kids most everything we want. He rarely tells me no, but will tell me if I am being unreasonable. He tells me when I overreact. He reminds me quite often (as I do him, too? Would Jesus do that? He tries to keep my shopping to a minimum, but still gives me spending money each week. He works a job that is very demanding and keeps him traveling to provide for us. He loves his kids madly. He plays in the floor with them, and has painted Laiken's fingernails and dried her hair. (I love that!) He has two little boys that dress up in camo to be just like their daddy. He always smells good, and gives the best hugs. He wipes my tears away when I am sad. He is so very supportive in wanting to adopt. I could have never been able to begin this process if he weren't on board, and not just on board, but excited and wanting this very badly too. So, today on your Bday know that I love you and you really do rock!

Just had to share..

We were in the car singing "Holy is the Lord" and the kids were really getting into it, and I looked over and I noticed Caden had his hands in the air and his eyes closed. It was the sweetest thing ever. My camera was in purse so I dug around for it and snapped this pic. And I dont even think he knew I took it!

Wacky Wednesday!

So what's going on with me?

1) RAIN! And more rain... all three kids are playing ball, so the muddy ballfields have been an issue and we have had three games cancelled in the last few days. I am ready for sunshine! (I can not tell you how many loads of muddy clothes I have washed in the last couple of weeks!)

2)So, yesterday we decided to put an offer on my dream house only to learn that it just went under contract. I guess someone else loved it, too! :( I am really sad about it, but I guess it's because there's something better out there and I already live in a fabulous house, so I am not gonna dwell over it.

3)I had no idea that this foster/adoption process with the state would take so long. She (the caseworker) had told me we needed to hurry up because of the amount of kids in our county in foster care had just risen. I am trying to become approved for both. The parents of the little girl we so love have not had their rights relinquished, but I know the dad does not want her and the mom is a meth user. So, we need to become foster parents. Besides that, who knows what other precious child may come in our lives? I just haven't heard from the caseworker since last week, and I am getting antsy.

4)Someone special is having a birthday tomorrow! The big 30. I wanted to say Happy Birthday a day early!

Happy Birthday Scotty! I want to thank him for being a great husband, and supporting all of us, and for being a great dad! I hope you have a wonderful birthday! I am going to make him a Reece's peanut butter cake, and it's deadly. It's very rich. Here's the recipe if you're interested:
1 box yellow cake mix
4-5 reeces peanut butter cups
1 can Eagle Brand
1 jar chocolate syrup
1 tub chocolate or regular cool whip.
Prepare cake as directed. Mix chocolate syrup with Eagle Brand and poke holes in the hot cake. Pour mixture all over cake. Let cool. (I put it in the fridge!) After it is cooled off, crush up peanut butter cups and sprinkle all over cake and then top with cool whip.

I Love you Scotty!

Where oh Where Have I Been???

Arrgh. I havent had internet service since last Wednesday!!!!! I have been so frustrated. Apparantly my next door neighbor has a cordless telephone interfering with my wireless signal! So, not sure how long this is going to last! First off, I wanted to say that I am deeply saddened by the loss ofKayleigh. I have been praying for this little girl and her parents for quite some time. I am praying that Adam and Aimee can find some peace. She is now up in heaven, with no pain and no tubes.

And Happy Mother's day! I have been gone tooooo long! My children are my blessings and they are such gifts from God. I am trying to get through this post without losing my signal (I have pics but they may not get posted today!)

It is currently storming here. I am tired of the storms and the rain! Uggh.

I was going to do Friday's show us where you live, but I am having trouble with uploading. Maybe later....

I hope everyone has a great Tuesday and I will try to catch up soon! It has been SOO hard for me without internet!

5.05.2009

stumbling into roadblocks.

I am frustrated. I am tired. I am alot of emotions, all rolled into one. As I sit hear typing, my three precious children are sleeping near me and I love to hear/watch them sleeping. (My rowdy boys are not so sweet awake!) I am just wishing I could rush this adoption process along! I want my new little girl to be here with us. I know she is safe in her current foster care, but I want her so badly. I am praying so very hard that she gets to come live with us. I have stumbled into a few roadblocks along the way that have been a little frustrating to say the least. This is all I can really think about. My house is a mess, my laundry is EVERYWHERE, I need to
  • run walk on my treadmill. I am eating terrible food, and there are dishes in my sink. My kids have been eating ballpark food and McD's for about two weeks now. I have gained weight (AGGGHHHH!!!) and I need to get up and keep myself busy, but I have been laying around with Little C all day for awhile now...I have played on the computer, and watched lots of Spongebob, Phineas and Ferb, and well, ya get the idea! Please pray for us! I know I need to get up, and get busy...(well, know it's midnight and I need to be in bed!) Tomorrow is a new day (although this rain may not help much) and I am going to get everything done. I think it's ok to slack off sometimes, we can't be Supermom all the time! But, I really think my kids need me to focus on them and they need their clothes hung up in their closets! (not stacked up on my bed, couch, treadmill...!) I am going to bed and I am going to sleep with all my babies tonight, I am not going to move them. They fell asleep earlier with me because I didn't make them go to bed. Sometimes it feels good to not follow the rules, ya know? Good night to all!
    P.S. Rain, Rain, go AWAY!!!!!
  • Happy Birthday to me!!!!!

Ok, first off...I am currently annoyed about two things.

My sweet little Camden has hidden my camera and I am going crazy without it, and he has taken me on a wild goosechase looking for it. He keeps telling me where he put it, and it's not there. I think he really forgot. Next, my internet. I cannot keep a signal for more than like three minutes and it takes forever for me to post a blog, or write E-mails. Every time it rains, I have issues. Ok, enough of that!

We celebrated my birthday on Friday night at Colton's (no camera) :(. But my sweet hubby ordered me a cake from Nana's bakery sometime last week and surprised me with it. Ok, I was a little shocked when I saw the cake....Strawberry Shortcake!! I was not expecting that at all. He was just making fun of me for having Strawberry Shortcake parties every year as a child. But, she was yummy and we ate her all up. (Now, back to that diet..) He did take a pic with his phone and E-mail it to me.

Tomorrow, my Memaw is going to take me shopping and we are going to have "a birthday day" like we do every year. I keep thinking the closer I get to 30, she's gonna tell me I am too old...but, she hasn't yet. We go and eat lunch and I shop and she pays...Fun, right? :)

I am praying that this lake house sells (I know you are all sick of hearing about it!) I want to buy a house (to live in) downtown. Can't buy till that house sells. And this house I want is probably going to sell soon. It's my dream..it's like a storybook house, built in 1934. I am praying it doesn't sell. It's so charming, we love it! And, if you are asking why we are moving again..DON'T!!! Just kidding, we want to downsize to something more charming and affordable and I HATE living on the golf course. I have no privacy and the kids are at risk for being hit by golfballs. :) I love my house, it's beautiful....but maybe not exactly what I want.

Isn't this charming and oh so cute?

I think so. And yes, maybe I do like to move...Ha.

    5.02.2009

Well this post is gonna be boring...but havent posted since Thursday....

So here's what has happened since then:
I got my hair colored lighter, more carmel-ly..
Laiken begged for a haircut, has been begging for hair like Lily's for weeks. So, she got her a little bob. It's really cute, anyways.
Laiken had a ballgame on Friday night, and we went to dinner at Colton's for my early Bday.
My hubby had a precious cake made for me...it was a little embarassing, but it was Strawberry Shortcake because he actually listened to me when I told him every party I had for like the first five years of my life was Strawberry Shortcake...it was sweet. He surprised me with it Friday at dinner.
My mom got me a really sweet necklace. Thanks, Mom!
We stayed home all day on Sat because of the weather.
I actually slept till ten this morning. Woke up to get ready for church, and saw it was ten. I was freaking out. :(

Not much going on around here. Since I didn't blog Friday, I was gonna add pics of my kitchen for the tour of homes that Kelly has going on. I think I have already blogged my kitchen...but anyways, I'm gonna do it again!

-Well, that's my kitchen! Tomorrow is my B-day, I really don't feel like it's my Birthday at all...
I am really stressed out about this house we need to sell. It is such a burden! Please pray it sells! I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend! :)
"We can cry with hope, we can grieve with hope, because we believe with hope.."
