UGGGGHHHHHHHHH!

I just decided to redo my blog myself. I have lost my header, and my template....Bear with me, I will eventually fix it. I had to revert back to a classic Blogger template till I can fix it!!!

The closing of one chapter, the beginning of another!

Hopefully my internet is really fixed this time. Really, ya'll when I can't get on the internet I get a little panicky. (Sad, huh?) The internet man came out today and moved the radio so hopefully I can pick up a better signal. On to other things...

Friday we closed on our lake house. It is no longer ours. It's gone! While it was a huge financial burden, part of me is a little sad. I remember the fun times the kids had there. Hopefully it is going to be a great vacation home for another family.

Onto the new chapter, we just bought 23 acres!!! And, we have started the process of building a new house. Hopefully the excavating will begin next week. Building a house seems scary but exciting at the same time. (I can see arguements in my head.) I am sure it will be fun and stressful. In order to build a house the size we are building, we have to cut some corners to be able to afford it all. The land is Scotty's dream. It sits next to a hunting club, and he wants to be able to hunt in his own yard. (Imagine that.) We are going to have 5 bedrooms, which means all kids will have their own room, and we can have a guest room! We have never had a guest room!! We are going to go with concrete floors (SOoo easy to clean and oh so pretty!) And concrete countertops in the kitchen. We have already picked our siding colors, paint colors, hardware, garage door...pretty much everything. I am excited!

A shot of the land:

Happy Tuesday to all!!!!

We had a really busy weekend. Friday was the closing program for VBS 2009. After that we went and took the kids and rode 4-wheelers. We cooked hambugers out on the grill and hung out with family. On Saturday, we went to West Memphis for Scotty's family reunion...(It was WAAAYYY too hot for a family reunion.) There were flies all over the food. Nothing like potato salad with eggs in it soaking up the hot sun. (EWWWW.) I can not eat food like that after it has sat out in the hot sun. The kids were miserable and ready to go! We came back home and went and rode 4-wheelers again that night until late. The kids love doing that. On Sunday, we cooked lunch outside at Scotty's couins house. I don't think I ate one meal inside all weekend. (therefore I didn't eat very much, which is good! Ha!) The kids swam in the river, which actually felt like warm bathwater. Today has been a day where we have just sat inside and done much of nothing. We went and looked at some property. We have decided to build and the house plans and the builder ready to go. We are narrowing down the property choices...it's between 22 acres and 12.6 acres. I am really excited about building a house, we have never done it before. Our house is going to be very family friendly and have 5 bedrooms so I am really excited about that. I think the heat is getting to the kids, they have been WILD all day......
I don't really feel like posting alot of pics, but here are a few of my kiddos at the reunion..

Laiken

For some reason. I can't post a pic of Caden--it won't let me upload. I will have to try again later.

I'm Alive!!!!

I have not had internet all weekend due to the storms we had on Friday...
I had an amazing weekend!
I got my hair freshened up, my nails and toes done, shopped, ate like a queen, and most importantly...
I spent time with my family that I don't get to see very often. My aunt, uncle, and cousins live in New Mexico and we see them once a year. (Not often enough!) I totally miss them and wish we were closer...my "little" cousins...are AMAZING kids. They are 20 and 15 and awesome examples of teenagers/young adults living for Christ. Kelsey is 15, an amazingly beautiful redhead and has the voice of an angel. On Sunday at church (she always sings when they visit) she sang with Matthew, her brother. It was so awesome to be there. She also sang alone and sang God Still Answers Prayers. What a simple song, but with oh so powerful true words!!
GOD STILL ANSWERS PRAYER

THE LORD IS NOT TOO BUSY THAT HE CAN’T REACH DOWN
AND MEND A BROKEN HEART AND MY BURDEN IS NOT TOO HEAVY
THAT HE CAN’T HEAR A PLEA OF FAITH
GOD STILL ANSWERS PRAYER
GOD STILL ANSWERS PRAYER___
IN HIS TIME HE’LL WORK A MIRACLE
HE WILL NEVER FAIL.
SATAN HAS LOST THE BATTLE
WHEN TO THE LORD YOU HUMBLY BOW
GOD STILL AN-SWERS PRAYER!
IF YOU FEEL THAT LIFE IS HOPELESS
AND THE NIGHT HAS NO END
THERE’S HOPE FOR YOUR HURTING HEART
FOR HE’LL BE THERE WITH YOU
NO MATTER WHAT YOU’RE GOING THROUGH
GOD STILL ANSWERS PRAYER!

Last night we kicked off VBS 2009 at our church, and I will say it was quite different. This year our church is working on a different budget, there are less kids, but the word of God is the same...I am supposed to be doing the nursery, but with two babies and one who screams for her mama, there's not much going on in there. :) The kids had a lot of fun and are looking forward to tonight.

Someone had Emailed me and asked me about the house situation and I guess I never blogged about it, but we decided not to buy the one house. It just seemed like the best thing, we got into a bidding war and I loved the house more than Scotty.

So, this weekend we found a dreamy log cabin on lots of land (perfect for Daddy) and at a fab price. We made an offer (a good one) on the spot. The next day we learn we are in a short sale situation and we need to up our price for the bank...we did and apparantly just learned that the listing agent had his own offer and rejected ours. He never even sent it to the bank...so unethical. I want to scream!!!! But, I really don't know what can be done. We just feel like we lost out on something great and fabulous for our family, but apparantly there is a reason for it.

Here is a pic of my piggies...can you make it out??
Yep, they are juicy watermelons.:) I got this idea and decided to ask my nail girl to do it, and it was hard to get her to understand me, but I love them!!! And yes, that is part of my tattoo (that I wish I didn't have!)
Well, I am off to get ready for VBS!

Happy Tuesday!

Randamity

I really don't have anything to blog about! :)

Today was a lazy day, really. Thursday are the days that Scotty comes home for the weekend. (For those of you who don't know, Scotty works in Nashville, TN during the week.) We actually lived there for a couple of years, and truthfully, I miss it. I love being home in Arkansas and close to my family, but I also feel like Nashville is home. Anyways, off of that...so on Thursdays, we usually clean up a little. I actually haven't cleaned my boys room in a week and it is a sad, pathetic, hot mess. I may have to take a pic of that later for you. Does anyone else clean their kids room daily, or do you do it for them? And how old do you think is old enough to do it on their own?

My family (Aunt, Uncle, and Cousins) drove in from New Mexico to visit for the week so I am excited to see them tomorrow. I have a great weekend ahead...(other than the nasty forecast)
I am going first thing in the morn to get a mani and pedi. Then, dinner with family tomorrow night (Don't you just love when the whole fam gets together?)
On Sat., I have my hair appt (I keep a standing appt. every six weeks for my beloved hair) and I am so glad it's alomost here. My hair is looking a little washed out!

Also, I want a bloggy makeover! Does anyone recommend anyone in particular? I have been looking around, but it seems like everyone has a long waiting list!

That's all for now!

Take 3

I deleted the post I had posted about this last night, because I didn't feel right posting it. However, I feel kinda vested in the situation...
I am re-writing this....again. (Take 3)
Just want to say that I am praying for her and that it is really unfortunate that this happened. I have suspected blog scam from the get-go.
The most important thing is that we all spent time praying for this girl, and what we thought was right. She still needs our prayers, because she obviously has issues and is hurting....she was reaching out for attention, not just monentary gain. I fully believe that.
She needs our prayers.

Anyhow, enough of that! Did anyone have anything yummy for dinner tonight? I had a grilled chicken and provolone sandwich with tomato soup..I love tomato soup! I love dunking my sammich in it! My kids ate pizza rolls and cheetos. (Sorry, I am not perfect and sometimes it just happens!) I LOOOOVE to cook, just haven't felt like it in a couple of weeks. Now, I am chilling with my kiddos watching 18 kids and counting that I DVR'd earlier..my kiddos love the Duggar's. They sit so quietly and watch every episode. Tomorrow I was planning on getting out and doing something fun with the kids, but I hear the storms a coming. I thought Arkansas was already rained out!!! Oh, well.

Have a Good Night!!!!
<

My Son, the SuperStar Diva!

We hit a *first* in the Anglin household! Caden lost his 1st tooth yesterday. It was about time! I have been wiggling his teeth for the last year or so wondering if they were gonna ever come out! Laiken should be losing some soon, too...at 6 and 7 you think we would have lost more teeth...anyhow!
Now that's a mouth shot!

This morning, Caden came and whispered to me "Mom, Mom, wake up and take my picture"
I knew that him and Laiken were already up watching cartoons, but lazy me was laying in bed...:) Well, here is the picture I took of him!!!!

Oh, Caden what am I going to do with you?? He is something else, I tell you...

I had a tummy virus all weekend and am still feeling so tired. Today is a day where (sorry to say) I don't have to wash my hair, put on makeup...I can stay home and relax. I need to clean..but, there's always tomorrow! Right now, Laiken is giving me a makeover because she thought I looked scary so she is brushing my hair as I type..I would probably pay her to do it, I love having my hair brushed!

On another note, our lake house is under contract! Woot Woot! I am SOOO happy. But kind of sad that the buyers are paying 2,000 less than we did for the house. And we are making no money...losing all the money we put in it..BUT it's a huge burden and alof of money every month gone. They are set to close June 30th...so a big thanks to those who have prayed that it would sell!!

Happy Tuesday, Ya'll!

6.05.2009

I am writing today just to ask for thoughts and prayers for my family in San Diego, CA. My cousin Brandon passed away yesterday afternoon after being in the hospital for several months with a flesh eating virus. I am not sure the exact details of what happened to him, but he went to the doctor with a simple rash and within a few days his legs were swelling and being ate up. His liver and other organs started to fail and he needed a transplant. It is hard to fathom dying from flesh eating disease. We have been praying for him here in Arkansas for months, and I know that there have been many prayer warriors in CA praying for him. He lost the battle here on earth, but God had other plans for him. I can't imagine how his parents and grandparents are feeling. Please remember them in prayer, I can imagine they are feeling pretty broken.

Anglin Prom 2009

Apparantly my kiddos have taken notice of the recent prom activities. Laiken has seen girls out in their dresses and been completely taken by them..
Today while I was cleaning the kids jacuzzi tub (yuck) I heard music and giggling. I walked in the living room and saw this:

I love these guys!!!! (Oh, and Camden was dancing with Bella the chihuahua!)
This post is very personal to me. I don't talk about this much. And bear with me, this is hard for me... But I want to pose a question...one that I, myself overlook. How often do we pray for our prison system? From the law enforcement all the way down to the prisoners, and the victims. I mean, the victims being the families of the prisoners, and any families that have been affected by an individual. I myself know someone very close to me that is living in prison right now. Meet Arkansas Department of Corrections Inmate # 651200. He is my brother. I love him, regardless of what he has done. I find myself sometimes embarassed when people in our small town ask about him. Everyone knows...and I don't tell those who don't.

This is his picture, which I got from the ADC website that anyone can go to or look up. It's available for all to see out there. This is not how I think about my brother looking. He doesn't in my mind look like this...he used to be handsome.

I try to remember my brother in different times. We have never gotten along with each other. I know this is kind of all over the place, but it's hard to write. Yet I want to write this. Anyhow. My brother is a very smart person. One of the smartest people I have ever met. Like me, he has a passion for reading and writing and learning new things. He just has no common sense, I like to say. He has made some terrible choices. I am very thankful that he has not hurt anyone other than himself and his family. I am grateful that we are not one of the many families of prisoners who have someone they love that has hurt someone in prison. But they are out there. Do we ever think about them or pray for them? Anyone can fall victim to crime, drugs, and bad choices. Even those raised in good homes. And I mean even those raised in Christian homes with values and morals instilled in you. I feel like my family are victims. We have fallen victim to him, more than once and we are now without someone we love. I have been praying for our prisons, specifically. They are not nice places. There are those there who are murderers, rapists, and pedophiles. And they are mixed in with drug offenders and theives. There is crime in our prisons and I hate that my brother lives in one. He is currently being housed in a facility that is better than most. He has been at facilities where you don't sleep at night. I try to remember that God made each and every one of those sick people who committ horrible crimes and while they deserve punishment, they need prayers. Our law enforcement workers need prayers. Our justice system.

Specifically, I pray mostly for my brother and his victims (my mom, grandparents, and his precious daughter.) My brother has made bad decisions to land him in his situation. The saddest part of his situation is his daughter. She is ten and a sweetheart. She has NO parents. Her mother was murdered in 2006. I pray for her every day. He has caused my family alot of grief. I pray that he is treated nicely every day. I pray that upon his release, that he can remain clean and be a productive member of society. I am no longer angry with him, I used to be. I want him to be able to see his daughter, not write letters to her from a prison cell. He has a strong faith in God, which is hard to believe for some. So, I am asking for prayer for my brother.

Love,

A day at the park

Today we slept till >9:30! Then we got up and headed off to the park. We stopped by Chick Fil A for lunch on the way. Today was one of those days (that rarely happen) when I didn't fix my hair or put on any makeup. I slathered the kids up in SPF 70 and we chilled in the sandbox. Caden is not feeling well, I dont know what is wrong but he is just exhausted. And moody. He laid on the picnic table in the shade most of the time we were there. I am hoping it's just his age and he gets over it soon. After we left the park we went to my most favorite place ever...TROPICAL SNO!!!! I love it so much. I usually alternate between Sweet Tart and Strawerry Colada. What flavor shaved ice do you like the best? THe kids love it, too. My mom took me there every day it was open during the summer as a kid. Some days it is my lunch. :) I took a few pics until my camera battery died and had to put it away.
Laiken digging in the sand...I am really digging her new Wal-Mart dress!

Camden making a "turtle" in the sandbox

Mr. Caden climbing the rock wall. He has renamed himself Scotty Joe. Haha.

Don't you just love the back of her dress?

I mean, a girl can dream that she is digging her toes in nice white sand on a tropical beach. Really, I almost forgot that I was sitting in a dirty sandbox. Ha!

We are getting ready to go to Laiken's ballgame and the kids are all hot and tired and not wanting to go anywhere. I am actually almost tired of ball season...
