quick Friday post

Last night I had family over for dinner and I made my homemade guacamole and homemade salsa. I make it yuuummmyy!!! Tonight, pigs are flying. My Memaw invited me and the kids over for dinner and she literally quit cooking a few years ago, but she decided to make me some sweet southern comfort..oh.my.word. We had purple hull peas, fried okra(hers is THE best), mashed potatoes, cornbread, fried skillet corn, relish and tomatoes. It was sooo good! Now that I've got you all hungry, have a great weekend!!

Summertime Bliss (HAHA)

I am sure people are laughing at me, but I have always loved J. Simpson's hair. It is soooo pretty!! So I took this picture to my friend Lauren yesterday and she did her best to make my hair super blonde. I love it! It is much blonder! I love it. And she even fixed it like this, too. :) We took pics with my phone but my phone crashed last night and I lost all.my.pictures. I was so sick about it! I love some of those pictures I take with my phone!! Sigh. Anyhow, I am not taking any pics now since I am already in my jammies and it's not even 7!!



So, my mom took off work yesterday to watch my kids so I could get my hair done. I don't have any summer babysitters and my parents both still work and I am alone while Scotty is working so it's hard to get anything done!! Thank you Mom!! My super pretty Aunt Linda and her family are in Arkansas visiting from New Mexico, and I love seeing them. While I was getting my hair done, they took the kids for pizza and played with them.

I have the prettist Mom and Aunt!! I love them both!!


This is Kelsey and Laiken. Kelsey is almost 19 and she is going to college this year, isn't she so pretty? My grandfather has red hair, and Kelsey is the only one who has gotten it so far. Should I say my grandfather USED to have red hair? Anyhow, she has the voice of an angel. She has some serious serious talent. She sings better than most I have seen on American Idol or The Voice (I am loving the Voice!!) She sand Adele's "Rolling in the Deep" for us last night and I am telling you, she sings waaay better. :) And my sweet little girl looks precious in this picture.


Today we haven't done much of anything worthwhile. I had a Tropical Sno for lunch. I had Georgia Peach (Strawberry+Peach) with cream. Yummy. My favorite is Sweet Tart though. It is grape with pink lemonade or reg lemonade. It tastes just like a grape sweet tart. Laiken had a sweet tart today. :) I have tried to clean and truthfully, I just have NO energy. Not sure what is up, but I took some vitamins haha!! Tonight for dinner I was craving this:

I know how bad it is for me and all, but I still love Taco Bell! I can't help it. My favorite is a Beef Mexi Melt and a Chicken Fiesta Burrito. And I don't even ever drink anything with sugar in it unless it is at Taco Bell and for some reason, it just tastes better when you wash it down with this:

Maybe it will give me some energy?? Who knows??!! I'm just keeping it real, but my life isn't very glamourous, haha! I am at home with three kids who are very super close together in age and they fight and yell and argue and spill milk and stop up toilets and poke holes in the blow up pool and ride their bikes through the flowers and tattle and it's just constant. (This was my day today..) But these three cannot stand to be away from each other, and no sooner are they tattling and swearing off the other one, I spy them laughing and giggling and hugging. I tend to try and let them work out their own battles and stay out as much as possible. Anyhow, it just wears me out! Maybe this is why I am tired?

Today I turned 29!!


Last night, my mom came over and brought pizza and presents. I got a solar butterfly ball for my flowerbeds..I am really into junking up my flower beds..I will take a picture tomorrow. I still haven't planted flowers. But I do have some plastic ones..haha. She also got me a large metal bowl I have been wanting for my table. It is made from metal circles..imagine that. One day I realized I have TONS of polka dots and circles swarming around here. It's a spotty world in which I live. :)

Today, I went to lunch with my Memaw. We went shopping and just hung out. I am SO lucky to have her. I am lucky I am 29 and still have a Memaw who runs around with me. We ate at McAlisters. I drank so much of that sweet tea I think my bladder about burst all day. She got me an umbrella for my patio. And some clothes for my kids. But hey, it makes me happy for them to look cute! How cute is she?? I know she's mine, but I think she's so beautiful!!! New clothes from Target!


Tonight, I skipped church. The kids went with my grandparents and my Dad and Sharon(stepmom) took me out to eat Italian. I stuffed myself with Mulfaldine and now I am full!! And bread dredged in balsamic and olive oil..I could literally drink this stuff. I know ya'll all think I am crazy and food obsessed. Haha. Saturday they are taking the kids and I to Petit Jean for a picnic and a hike for my birthday too. It should be fun..

I bought myself a monogrammed flag for my flower beds since I am about the only one on the street without one and I felt left out..plus it matches my big "A" welcome mat.:) I also bought myself a really cute flower dish scrubber. My kids made me the sweetest cards, I will share pics tomorrow, I don't feel like getting the pics off my phone. :) I have some sweet babies, ya'll. Really. I am so thankful. They are growing up to be such great kids. Not really babies. They make me happy.

Before I dropped them off for church..my boys were way too cool for a self portrait, LOL.


I had a great birthday!! And tomorrow I plan on spending the money my dad gave me at Kirklands!! I know just what I want..:)

I told my mom I was sad we no longer had family fun nights..so she invited us over on Friday night for pizza.( Scotty and I cooked our own food and skipped pizza)..the kids played board games and we all just hung out. I just like being with my family and feel like we don't all get together enough.

Today we went to Walmart and geez Louise..we in central Arkansas have had no snow this year but since they are predicting 6" here, everyone was there. It's just crazy to me..I guess its a southern thing. After we left Walmart, I lost it..I'm not sure why it hit me right then but I just got so angry and sad all mixed up... I sometimes wonder if this is all a nightmare. Maybe I'm going to wake up..my monthly visitor arrived today. Maybe thats why I feel so sad today.

I played dance central with my kids tonight and I'm.obsessed.with.this.game. It's such a good workout and fun to play with the kids. I am not a video game player, but the kinect is awesome. I love it! I also have the biggest loser for kinect but I haven't opened it yet..

I'm off to prepare for the blizzard, hehe.

our day in pics..

I can't label my photos on my mobile Blogger, so that's why they all appear at the top. I have gotten used to this mobile blogging..

Anyhow, my niece Maycee spent the night with Laiken last night. This morning I curled their hair with the chi and they were so excited. The flat iron makes the best curls ever...
We had to go to Little Rock to go to the bank and the traffic was horrendous...I thought Scotty was going to have a panic attack...lol.
The girls were jamming out to radio Disney..throwing their hands in the air..:-)
I took the picture of this house in Little Rock..it cracked me up. Pink flamingoes, m&m's going to the tropics..LOL.

Camden has an obsession with ties and he likes to clip them to his shirts. Whatever works...he's a mess. I have this feeling he's going to be the boy in the family who is girl crazy and I can envision girls calling our house for him...not a good thought for this mama..

Scotty wrestles with the kids all the time, even in the kitchen..it gets wild and loud around here. But I LOVE that their daddy plays with them.

Finally, here is a pic of our Christmas card. It says Merry Christmas from Scotty, Ashley, Caden, Laiken, and Camden. In memory of Ryan Elizabeth, born into heaven 11.9.10. I felt like we should include her in our cards this year. I waited until two days ago to send out cards.

My prayer this year is for those hurting, missing loved ones, and those who are sick during the holidays. Last year we were unsure of how Scotty was going to be, and praise the Lord he is doing well on his medicines. I've read so many blogs in the past few days that have tugged at my heart and made me cry, and bring me to my knees to pray for people I've never met. Hug those around you, hold your kids tight, and love like crazy..
I pray that everyone has a very Merry CHRISTmas..and remembers the true meaning. I'm just so thankful for the time I get to spend with my family. That's what I love about the holidays..:-)
