Wanna eat lunch with me?

Today for lunch I had a tuna salad sandwich with tomato, romaine, swiss and a side of cucumbers.
Here's my plate:

I WILL.NOT. eat tuna in a restaurant or from a church potluck, but I do like it when I make it. I use a hardboiled egg, some diced apple, and diced bread and butter pickles. I use about a TBSP of fat free mayo.
Cucumbers...I have had two people ask me about those and I literally eat them almost every day in the summer. I slice them with the skin on and put them in a large bowl with a lid. I mix up(APPROX) you can adjust to your own taste 1/4 cup veg oil, 1/2 C vinegar, and you can either use Splenda or real sugar, to taste. I use splenda and it's ususally about 3TBSP. I pour this over my cucmbers and add tomatoes and if you wish, purple onion. The thought of onion makes me gag right now so I didn't do that on my last batch. Another way my mom makes it, and I do sometimes is instead of the veg oil, use lowfat mayo or miracle whip. Let sit in the fridge for at least 4-6 hours before you eat them!!

I think I am going to try the DASH diet if it's OK with my doctors. I don't see why it wouldn't be. It is supposed to cut down hypertension and mine is HIGH. I am just beginning to feel a little morning sickness, so I am scared once it comes on full force the last thing I will want to eat is healthy fruits and veggies...I am just trying to eat every few hours.

Tonight is my Memaw's birthday! We are going to dinner at a steak place. Steak is my favorite food. How can I resist getting a fatty salty steak? I have been thinking about this all day. Do I order a small steak or do I get chicken? This is literally consuming my thoughts!! It's easy for me to say I won't get steak, but then when I have to order, I get this moment of weakness and order steak. Sigh. I'll let you know what I eat!:-)

I promised Camden a new toy or video game if he could stop chewing the skin off his feet. I have nibbled at my nails my whole life and so I get it, but just never literally tore the skin off my feet with my teeth..He said he will try really hard to keep socks on and not take them off. When I got him out of bed this morning, he still had socks on...let's hope it lasts!!!

I love tuna (eat it almost everyday for lunch)! And those cucumbers sound so yummy. I'll definitely have to try that. As for the DASH diet, I think this may be the perfect fit for you. In fact, a majority of pregnant "heart" patients are actually put on this diet by thier docs. Good for you for being so proactive. Your doc will be impressed ;)

I say go for the steak, but get the smallest one you can get. And remember that even then, restaurant portions are big, so maybe eat 1/2 tonight and bring home half for lunch? That way it's not all of that salt at once.... just a thought!

Good for Camden for keeping the socks on!!! I'm proud of him!!!!
