Let's chat: Fall drugstore make-up

If you know me, you know I'm makeup obsessed. It may be a huge shock to a lot of people, but I only use drugstore makeup. The department store stuff is great, but it's pricey and with a little research you can have perfect makeup for little money.

I thought I would do an overview on some of my faves, especially for fall right now. It amazes me how many women don't know how to put on makeup, so they don't bother. I am totally not saying ALL women need it, either:-). Just offering up some tips and the best drugstore buys.
First up-face.

If you want flawless foundation, you MUST have primer. It's so important for that all day flawless smooth face. I use both the Rimmel and the Elf in the back of the pic. The elf feels like satin, no joke. Like a very expensive primer. It's $3. I love the maybelline fit me makeup in 125. It's great coverage without being thick. I found that the neutrogena mineral makeup works amazing over liquid and is not heavy and gives ah-mazing flawless skin when used together. It's $11-$12. The most important part of mineral makeup is the brush. I love love expensive brushes. Cheap generally won't do. But Elf makes fabulous brushes. SO cheap. $1-$3 and some I like better than my expensive ones. The kabuki brush is a MUST if you want flawless skin. And the elf one is the best I've used.
Next-face color

The open compact is the best bronzer
ever. It's Elf and it's $3 and you can find it at target. I dust it all over for an awesome glow. I like to contour with the NYC Sutton park peach or the Rimmel match perfection in light medium. These are both CHEAP. I hate matte powder, but if you must have one-the Rimmel is great.
Eyes-

Eyeshadow!! These are the bestest. $1 by elf. They do sell a compact to put these in. This is moondust and aborigine and they are perfect to me. Not too shimmery, not too matte. Perfect fall colors with amazing color payoff. Sometimes with cheaper shadows, the payoff isn't great. These rock.
Dressing up those lashes..

Ok on the left is the elf $1 eyeliner pen and it is the best I've ever used. This is in coffee, and I do use a black liner for my waterline-but this I use upper and lower and smudge or it will do perfect lines. Mascara-I always use two. You will find a lot of makeup artists stack mascara for that perfect lash look. This NYC mascara? $1. Yup. Lengthens great. I am loving Rimmel Scandal eyes for volume. I apply it first, then comb. Then I layer the lengthening mascara on top.
The smackers!!

Pucker up! These are made by NYC and are 97 cents!? What! The cafe and mocha are perfect perfect fall colors!
I hope this wasn't too boring:-) I just love make-up and thought I'd do a post about it! Let me know if you have questions and I will answer:-)

I'm the same way, I'm okay with drug store makeup. I have very sensitive skin and the cheaper stuff works just fine, no rashes. I really like elf, good makeup and GREAT price!! I really enjoyed this post, I only use a little bit of makeup and needed the tips thanks!
