Hoppin Johns..and other stuff

I made sure to eat some blackeyed peas. Is that a tradition everywhere or just in the South? We eat hopping johns (blackeyed peas and rice). It is supposed to bring you good luck. (No, I really don't believe in luck or am superstitious) but my mama always said you should eat them for luck. It's not too late if you haven't yet..but you have to eat them on New Years day to work..Ha. Note:I had a big juicy ribeye with mine. And a baked potato. Yummo. So, really I just had a spoonful of hoppin johns.

2010 was supposed to be my year. 2009 was awful. It didn't work out that way. My year ended like this:
With a BROKEN heart..

Noone should ever, ever have to go through that.

I am thankful, however, that I had her. I am thankful for the time God gave me with her, for each picture I have of her in my womb, and for every heartbeat I heard. She changed me, and for the better so I am thankful for that.

I am thankful for our fun summer in Cincinnati..it was a time where we all got to be together as a family.
The kids at a park in Cincinnati.

I am thankful for the weekends in Dallas we had.

I am thankful Scotty made it another year. I am thankful for so many things, although I am hurting, I want to have a thankful heart. It does not mean I am not sad, angry, and want to yell. It does not mean I am not having a hard time. It just means I will be thankful for what I have here on this Earth.

I am looking forward to 2011, and the changes in our lives. I am looking forward with hope, faith, and optimism.

I am SO looking forward to Christmas 2011...we are going away for the holidays to a cabin in the mountains. I have never been away on Christmas and it just seems so magical. I am SO excited!

In 2011 I want to take more pictures..I SO need a new camera. Mine got lost in the Spring and all the pics you see on here are taken with my phone. :-(

I pray for hope, joy, and peace for all my family and friends in this upcoming year! I hope that everyone has a fabulous year.

P.S. Dont forget to eat your peas!!!

Praying for a wonderful 2011 for you. Your 2011 Christmas plans sound wonderful! I know you are starting off this year heartbroken, and I pray that God heals your heart as only He can and that each day is a little bit better than the last.
