saving moolah

Since our situation has drastically changed, I have been doing everything I can to save money. Coupons, no eating out, drinking only water, no impulse buying. However, when I get the urge to impulse buy, I can do this. It's not as much fun as a new bag or a new pair of sandals, but hey..

I paid $3.63 for all of that. I have gotten four Nivea bodywashes for $.04. There was a $3.00 off coupon in the newspaper insert and I've been collecting newspapers.. Four Cents!!! Target also has a clearance sale for toothpaste for .88 and I had a few .75 off coupons for TEN cent toothpaste. Yeah, maybe I am stockpiling a little..but NO mustard. I promise. {you'll get it if you watch extreme couponing}:)

My coupon success has alot to do with Scotty being at home and he is great with numbers and two heads are better than one and so it takes less time..because face it...saving money can be time consuming. I have cut my grocery bills in half. Did I mention I've been caffiene free for over a month? I have drank nothing but water. I am a Diet Coke addict..but somehow I am making it..:)

We splurged today and ate out for lunch while the kids were at school. We went to Subway and split a $5 footlong and had water. I'm a cheap date these days..

I am going to leave you with this verse I love.
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” – (Matthew 5:16

I have watched Extreme Couponing and I would LOVE to be able to do that...well, to a degree. To do it like they do just seems so stressful!

Really big kudos to you for cutting your grocery bill in half! That's super awesome! And seriously!?!? CAFFEINE free!? WOW! You ARE a super woman! :)

Keep up the good work!

Love that show and would LOVE someone to come train me on how to do it ALTHOUGH it is difficult when all we have is wal-mart...
