What I eat

I am in NO way a food expert, nutritionist, blah blah. There's your disclaimer.

I have struggled with my weight, especially over the last two years. I shoved my depression right into my face.

I used to work out every day in the gym and ate super healthy. I think good, simple eating is the way to go. I am counting calories and using my fitness pal. This way I know when I can have a "treat". I am buying organic food and cut red meat out. Insert sad face, I love steak. But this has become a fun game. It is fun to see the scale drop. And I need to lose 30 more lbs. I really am still eating good foods..

Strawberry walnut spinach salad with light raspberry dressing.

Salad, veggies, turkey burger on a sandwich thin with mustard and tomato. And reduced fat cheese.

Turkey taco bake with whole grain tortillas and a salad with light vinegrette. I even had a little bit of guacamole.

Turkey patty with veggies.

Whole grain penne with turkey and light Ragu sauce. Super yum.

Veggie burger with low fat cheese on sandwich thin.

I try and eat at home, but my fitness pal and common sense help me make healthy choices out. I love love the house dressing at US pizza and know its fattening. But I still eat a salad there at least once a week. By planning my meals and changing my lifestyle I think it's ok to eat something you really want.

I've really been working hard and I have a long way to go. But, my goal is 30 lbs by the time our beach vacation comes in July!

I snack on nuts, fruit, protein smoothies..I have planned on documenting this journey but have been a little ashamed that I let myself get where I was. I'm going to continue to blog about it, maybe even do a weekly post with all my meals and total calories. More so for me, but if you have any questions or advice feel free to ask or give me advice:/) This is just what works for me.

If anyone else is trying to lose weight, let me know what you are doing!! I can't count points but can count calories:-)

Happy eating!

You are doing great! You need to find me on My Fitness Pal, I'm on there too and love it!

Are you working out? I am SURE it is hard with the little ones, just wondering if you have time to squeeze in a run a few days a week?

Ok so as I read this I am stuffing my face with chips and cookies. UUGGG it has been a bad week. Right after Jonathan died I lost my apatite and dropped a lot of weight really fast. Recently I have been eating for comfort not good ;/ I know I need to get a handle on it or I will have a mess on my hands. Well this is really encouraging that you and Hillary are doing weight loss post maybe it will help me before I jump headlong into a pint of ice cream. I love the idea of a weekly diet/exercise post that would be a great link up :) Good job!!!!!

Great job! I have also been changing my diet and exercising and have lost 50lbs in the last year. I have my struggles, but overall it has been easier this time. I also ate my way through my grief:( When I started this journey I weighed 30lbs more than when I got pregnant with Reese and Scotlyn and I was heavy to begin with. It feels really good to watch the weight come off. One thing that has helped me is my breakfast. I found these low carb tortillas with laughing cow light swiss cheese wedge and egg whites. About 125cal and it keeps me full. Keep going girl, you look great!
